Pros

Xylem Inc. and particularly the team I work on has a good work life balance though your mileage may vary quite a bit depending on which software team team you are on. The daily software and problems are challenging and interesting in my case.

Cons

I once would of recommended this job as a Software Engineer to others but not anymore. Compensation is not competitive with industry standards. You have to leave in order to get a higher salary. They will not keep up with inflation and you are locked into your starting salary. They will fight tooth and nail to not give you a decent raise regardless of your contributions or competence. Another thing to note is in June of 2020 they laid off 30% of every team across the entire organization in response to Covid19, which was extremely reactionary and they have yet to replace a single team member we lost since then. So more work for everyone and less pay to top it off. If the pay was better then this job would be decent if you are on a team you get along with working on software you find interesting and engaging.
