Pros

The CEO & Company vision are amazing. Their goals are progressive and achievable while also giving back to communities all over the world with the Xylem Watermark program. I cannot say enough good things about watermark.

Cons

On a functional level, there is a real lack of respect for people, lack of coaching and mentoring by/for management, and lack of direction and processes. So much extra work is done that isn't needed. This company has a lot of potential, but I think it will continue to have high turnover rates if they don't address their lack of respect for the people of the company and mentoring.

Pros

The products are of high quality, are serviced well, and compete effectively in the market. Team members are hard working, loyal, and with many years of knowledge in the market.

Cons

Top management is not transparent in communications, and had created many layers of management. Key decisions are made with little or no input from from plants; it is a top-down approach, so individual performance and the future potential of each plant is taken into account. Strategic input from plants is essential to success. 360 degree reviews are not well implemented and acted on, and turnover at all levels, but especially middle management, is too high.

Pros

Nice coworkers/ flexible on PTO time off

Cons

I worked fulltime at Xylem for over a year. Am moving on to new position shortly. I was doing the job of it least 2 people and was told I was not doing enough work. Had two performance reviews and both were only focused on negatives. Was told I was doing the job of an office manager yet am Inside Sales? There is no appreciation/ very little to no training. If you make it past the first 6 months/year then you have survived. There is a "throw you to the wolves" mentality especially for those who work in branches which is where I worked. I was told how to do one thing in different ways from different people. I felt very isolated here. I had to reach out to people from other parts of Xylem and would have difficulty getting in touch with anyone in order to complete my work. My boss was out-working from home it least once a week, most Fridays not in. I had a ridiculous commute and all he said was you need to live closer even though they don't pay enough to live 10 miles outside a major city. I was told after a year being here/ received a warning for my job, which I am grateful since it gave me the push I needed to get another job. 2 months have past since then and no word on my situation, whether good or bad. They do not seem to care about really helping you do will, only negative reinforcement and scare tactics.
