Pros

Huge benefits of scale. Legendary brands (notwithstanding their having been tossed in favor of CRY er I mean YRC). Truly great group of people to work with day in and day out.

Cons

Huge bureaucracy that like most bureaucracies exist only to perpetuate themselves. Also, the guys at the very tip top of the company - and I'm talking about Billy Z. here - are egotistical morons.

Pros

Compensation is very competitive. Good benefits. Paid time off. Many of the front line workers are focused on service the customer despite management's objectives to serve themselves. Opportunities to observe and learn about the negative effects of poor business decisions and mismanagement of employees. Take those experiences and avoid mistakes in your own career/future business. Great place to work if you are an incompetent employee that is effective at playing office politics, capitalizing on the success of others and giving management the numbers they want to see.

Cons

Top down management strategy. Unawareness and incompetence among executive team and mid-level management. Does not take into consideration the feedback and suggestions from experienced front line employees and supervisors. Financial state of company results in irrational knee jerk reactions to any change in the market place or sudden strategic shifts for reasons that can not be explained by mid-level management. The company is focused on cash flow vs. providing a good and fair service to its customers.
