Pros

The staff is amazing, they work themselves into the ground for little pay. They deserve a huge raise.

Cons

The building is in a sort of bad area.

Pros

I love working here because I feel like I'm making a difference in the world. I feel like I'm contributing to an important community. And because I work for an internationally-known organization, it also looks pretty good on my resume. I get moderately good experience in my field as well. Our office is small (45 administrative staff for the entirety of the three programs), so I have to wear a lot of hats.

Cons

The entire staff is well above forty. This means that they treat me like I'm their kid, because they all have children my age. Most of them have very little technical awareness. For example, our accounting department doesn't even know how to use the SUM function in Excel. It gets incredibly frustrating, because even in such a small organization the bureaucracy is overwhelming and completely bogs down our mission. I'm frustrated, because I feel like I should be contributing to society and helping to accomplish change. But for now, it feels like we're just barely cleaning up after society's messes.

Great mission, poor leadership

Pros

Their social justice mision is inspiring and I worked with some extremely smart and dedicated people.

Cons

There is a lack of clear vision (despite the national mandate). Management were less concerned with developing a monitoring and evaluation system for some programs, than chasing donations. It made it difficult to know how your work was measured.
