Pros

Good mission and this org could be something great again if people cared enough to make it great. It is a shame that such a long history can lead to this.

Cons

Leadership consistently fails to enforce structure, reward hard work and listen to employees. Middle management is poorly trained, unqualified to lead and unwilling to try. Junior employees have no guidance and are unprofessional. Unrealistic expectations and some people have way more work than others but aren't paid to match that, inconsistent HR practices and they try to hide information so instead employees whisper to each other. High turnover and only some employees are given vacation time paid out, none are encouraged to stay. Frequent screaming matches in the office and no accountability. CEO never present.

Pros

Great mission, great volunteers & once in a while a great co-worker

Cons

Watch your back, non profit can be a cutthroat business. Office politics was unbelievable when I was there and why I left. Too much gossip and people serving their own agendas. I understand there have been administrative staff changes in thie last couple of years so it may be different now. I still view the dismissal of my boss as a coup d'etat. The months that followed became hell and I eventually left when the environment became quite hostile.
