Pros

* Most of the employees are passionate about their job. * Started offering free lunch to mimic the benefit offered on Yahoo Sunnyvale campus.

Cons

* Morale is in the negative range and hit the lowest point possible by end of 2017. * Minimum 2 layoffs every year, followed by reorganization etc. * Technology decisions are now made by the new Yahoo CTO and his directs based in Sunnyvale. If you are an Engineer based on the east coast, you will be considered a remote and *dispensable* asset.

Pros

- Lot of opportunity, especially if you're top talent - Great work/life balance - Solid benefits

Cons

- Read the other reviews... it's ex-Yahoo folks complaining about how awesome Yahoo used to be (prior to Oath) and ex-Aolers complaining about the attitude of ex-Yahoos (post Oath). The merger was/is pretty rough and the culture reflects that -- we're far from a unified single company - Company is bloated on headcount and non-profitable products, hence that all the layoff talks

Pros

good compensation and benefits free food

Cons

Very bad, unprofessional management that only play politics to survive; Quarterly performance review (QPR) system gives unlimited power to management to do whatever they want with engineers; Unrealistic QPR goals that impossible to achieve gives management full freedom to put any QPR score based on manager personal decision; Up to 5% hidden layoffs by performance due to QPR score every quarter without severance package; Lots of great engineers have been fired by “performance” just because of managers wanted to get rid of inconvenient people; Due to bell curve inside team (low 5% should go every quarter) there is no team work at all. Nobody shares any knowledge and help; No work/life balance; Culture is good for new college grads and interns but very bad for senior engineers with knowledge and experience; So if you are senior engineer please stay away from this company. You will not be appreciated and rewarded;
