Pros

Excellent benefits. Amazing resources. Good facilities. The university succeeds when it's people do, so they make sure that their people do.

Cons

Well, it's a post-doc, right? Long hours, high expectations, pay not commensurate with abilities. This is not so much a reflection on Yale specifically, although at the post-doc orientation there was a strong suggestion that one return to work after dinner.

Pros

Flexible, good work/life balance, 37.5 hour work week, good health options offered, decent salary.

Cons

Salary lower than market, high cost charged by Yale to park your car, limited ability to work remotely, high contribution charged toward health insurance monthly. Less urgency and commitment, everything is manual. Feels like you've gone back in time 10-15 years.
