Pros

Great opportunity to learn about social media, online advertising, etc. If you love to talk on the phone for endless hours to business owners that aren't interested in talking to you because they've already been called numerous times, then this is your gig.

Cons

This place is an employee factory. It seemed as though everyday a new person was hired and somebody was leaving because of their impossible quotas. Stay away! When employees are let go, they are done so in a really unprofessional manner.

Pros

The COO--Geoff Donaker is a very sharp guy. It's a great company, that serves a much needed area within the online space. Wonderful people from the ground up. If you get the opportunity, go for it!

Cons

If you aren't part of the solution....

Pros

Young, fun co workers who end up being good friends. Relaxed dress code Tons of snacks (not so healthy), and cool company outings Outstanding benefits- gym reimbursement. Working for a company that everyone uses and loves (-business owners & media) Reaching the holy grail of meeting sales goal and being able to leave at a decent hour for the rest of the month. a rare, rare task especially in this economy. Great for someone who doesn't care about how features are developed on the engineering / product side and really REALLY money driven. It looks like if you're doing anything other than sales its a pretty SWEET company to work for a while.

Cons

- cold calling business owners who either hate Yelp or have absolutely no computer skills to actually sell them anything - getting yelled at on the phone for being a telemarketer. - Clearing out your schedule for these "appointments" and then getting flaked on. - Tough work schedule especially when working with clients in different time zones easily 10 hour days. not including time at home. - Commission- those 12 hours don't mean anything if you don't make a sale. - VERY high turn around in hiring, there is a new sales class every 2 months so it feels like you are very disposable which adds to the stress during the job and after work. - You really are working all the time- nights, weekends, whenever you can track a business owner down. -Constantly defending the company and what you do, I have no idea where these lies come from but it was very frustrating to do your job well and help business owners with their advertisement when there is such false, negative press out there....constant up hill battle.
