Pros
The job was pretty self-directed and I was on a two person team with a much more experience engineer who could mentor me. The hours were very flexible. Management was very hands off and nice.
Cons
My mentor on the first day made jokes about how he'd "love to throw a grenade at President Obama." The work that I thought I would be doing had already been finished so I was stuck doing some boring work. I also would have to work outdoors in the hot sun and drive heavy machinery, which isn't what I had signed up for. The company made a mistake and was paying me more for a month or so an then when they realized their mistake, reduced my pay for a short while to equalize it (instead of just letting me keep the small amount of extra money).
