Good Company Depending on Workgroup

Pros

Depending on workgroup (manager) you will have a different experience. NuPolar R&D group was great, good manager, great coworkers and comradery amongst managers-engineers-operators. The most diverse technical “Engineering/office personnel” staff office staff I have seen in industry R&D was about 70 percent minorities, women. Great work life balance in most groups.

Cons

Not many options for advancement. Experience will vary depending on manager, one or two managers I would steer clear from.

Pros

There are many kind people that work here, unfortunately without power or in leadership positions.

Cons

-Huge racial and gendered divide in the company across all departments- hourly workers tend to be hispanic/black/women and white (or white passing)/men tend to be in engineering or management. -Inappropriate sexual relationships particularly within R&D dept -Toxic masculinity & petty drama is pervasive in R&D, HR, and admin -No career growth here for any POC or women
