Missing Leadership, too high seniority do not allow cultural change. Central government does not support enough the attempt of changes vs Customer focus

Pros

Zeiss invests a ton of training in their new employees. Managers get feedback on employees interests and try to build that into training. Shadowing a variety of related positions is included in training. Managers are approachable but don't micromanage. Even the president takes time to have breakfast with employees from time to time.

Cons

I haven't found any downsides yet. The people are great, the work is great, and the pay is great.

- good salary - tariffs of IG Metall are applied - interesting job

Cons

- temporary contracts - you can't plan your life for some long time - in the middle of nowhere. the nearest large cities are ca. 1 hour away (Ulm ,Stuttgart). - must to relocate
