Pros

- Lots of work to be done - You learn a lot - Salary compensation is quite competitive compared to similar jobs - New generation of Power Steering with lots of potential to learn new things and become lead engineer if wanting to continue working in this field - Monthly townhall meetings give good perspective on business outlook for the future

Cons

- Benefits are just okay, bonuses are very low and are based on team performance. - 1d/week work from home policy in place but you rarely get the chance to do it due to management expectations. (this doesn't include the current COVID situation) - Management could be better leaders. - Employee appreciation day is a joke. You get maybe a mug or small lunch bag. - Most hiring in software teams is stopped outside of India due to costs and all. Which makes sense from business point of view however us senior engineers have to train them which involves a lot of time not doing your work, making early calls with them due to time zone differences, managing to make sure work they do is correct, etc...A lot of this can be taught but the language barrier can sometimes be difficult. - Not enough time given to test our software builds before they get delivered to customer. Customer finds an issue then makes us go back to old software and make bug fix releases on old software that is not relevant anymore. - All the negatives that come with working for an automotive supplier. Customer (OEM) decisions outweigh everything regardless if we have the time or resources to do it.

Pros

Interesting projects Lots of autonomy, especially for an internship Get to work with industry professionals Good pay, raises with class rank Get to work at school

Cons

Difficult to understand the corporate structure as a new hire IT keeps changing their system, makes automation difficult Uses legacy technologies, but this is to be expected from a Fortune 500 company
