Bad Management

Pros

The Home Office had a nice pond.

Cons

Some of the WORST managers I've ever worked with in the HR and "People & Culture" Group. Talent Acquisition is a joke with no training and unreasonable expectations. The whole leadership team has NO IDEA what they are doing. Got promoted into a management position and was told to watch YouTube videos and TedTalks on how to lead people. Guess that's what you need when you fire the whole Talent Development and Management team. Don't waste your time building a career with this company. They fired the person in charge of service awards and the "25-year club". If you think you're in a good spot, just wait until the next job FAILS and you'll be on the chopping block. The technological landscape is atrocious and outdated. The new employee information system is badly configured and not user friendly. The chaos of "Project Maverick" should be studied for how to waste time and money while getting absolutely nothing done. Executives and upper-level management are leaving in droves.

Not the company it used to be

Pros

Was once a great company and has potential to return to prominence- if they can get out of their own way.

Cons

- Bankrupt and can’t pay their bills. - Vendors won’t do business with them; basic necessities to run projects have to be purchased on credit cards. - True employee appreciation and gratitude is non-existent. Achieving the company’s highest award or reaching other significant milestones (such as 100 years) are celebrated with cold shrimp po-boys and soggy french fries. - Benefits such as health insurance are expensive and mediocre at best. - Countless mid to high level employees have left the company in the last year due to current climate, frustrations with the direction of the company, and dismal outlook. - Dictatorial senior leadership with an emphasis on micromanagement. - Lack of customer engagement and visibility by regional and corporate leadership (unless of course you happen to be a high profile customer).
