Pros

Wonderful people that tend to be fun, curious, and don't take themselves too seriously. Our culture is super collaborative - there's a lot of face-to-face interaction, and we're always working together to solve problems. On the flip side, there's plenty of time to code and be an engineer - schedules aren't filled with unnecessary meetings. Management is always approachable and understanding. There's a real opportunity to make a difference, and for your voice to be heard. Because we're a relatively small team, employees have the opportunity to learn a broad skill set, and aren't locked too much into one area. People are encouraged to explore things they're interested in, which I truly appreciate. The work-life balance is quite awesome - it's nice to be able to go home at the end of the day.

Cons

- It can be a bit chaotic (good in certain cases, but can feel disorganized at other times). - It's sometimes difficult to get critical feedback. - It would be nice to feel more connected to our parent company, Realogy - there are some wonderful people there, but (in general) their corporate image makes it difficult to relate.

Pros

- The flexible schedule makes balancing life and work easier - Great collaboration across teams - Good group of curious, motivated folks - Lots of fun, exciting challenges with plenty of room to make an impact - Ownership and responsibility - Your thoughts opinions count - Room to grow

Cons

- Trying the latest and greatest tech could be a challenge due to the corporate nature - Change takes time; this is not necessarily a bad thing, but it does slow down the company's capacity to innovate faster

Pros

Plenty of opportunity to learn and grow. Environment rewards curiosity and tries to develop from within rather than hire. The team culture is pretty good and everyone enjoys working with each other. Within the tech space it's fairly uncommon for folks to stick around longer than 2-3 years, but at ZapLabs many of the team members have been here 5+ years. The outlook of ZapLabs looks great because of backing by Realogy our parent company. Building the premier real estate technology and deploying it at massive scale means lots of exciting tech innovations in engineering, dev ops, data science, and big data realms on top of all the cool product opportunities.

Cons

Always plenty of work to do but that's probably fairly common. Sometimes things involving ZapLabs' parent company Realogy make things move somewhat slow...but most of the time ZapLabs operates with a lot of freedom which is great for Realogy.
