Some manage this by sugar coating progress and hope they find a new gig prior to go live. Another approach is to offload onto a new Employee/ contractor and walk away. The most alarming is when management starts playing games with your prenegotiated billable rate. They’ll give contractors praise then ask them to take a cut while in the midst of a project or ask you last minute to take some time off in order for management to check off their yearly “cost cutting” goals. How’s that for a morale booster?
