      Good place for 1 or 2 years

      Pros

      Good work environment, gentle managers and cool coworkers, no mandatory overtime, no night shift neither work on weekends Fair to good benefits

      Cons

      IT is very hard to improve your conditions, raises are not based in performance, typically you get a 5-10% yearly; the same for promotions, they rely too much on experience (some experience is obviously positive, but it cannot be the only thing that matters), you must be doing the actual work before you get the official promotion for a very long time, no less than 6 months, often much more and even like that is not granted, for example in a department of 70 people there is only one senior (officially, of course in practice more people is doing that role) Teams are permanently understaffed, some of them heavily understaffed, the workload is insane Because of these two problems employee turnover is very high There are some other problems in daily operations that have not been fixed by years The higher ranked managers seem to be quite competent, but mid managers seem to have arrived there because they are very good doing interviews

      Good culture/good products - nice place to work

      Pros

      After a pretty difficult period (internally) while absorbing old Motorola business, it has now become much more streamlined. Some interesting projects. Culture is good - respectful, open, not that much politics

      Cons

      Its seems to have got into the habit of paddling like crazy, and trying to overcome big issues by lots of little activities, while not addressing the underlying problem.

      Company is doing great and provides profit sharing Strong focus on culture and employee satisfaction Challenging, fast paced work Wonderful set of co-workers from peers to senior leadership Competitive salary/benefits Understands work/life balance In-Building staffed gym w showers/lockers 4 volunteer paid time off days - Zebra is very committed to service and the communities it operates in and there are always opportunities to get involved

      Cons

      Much like every organization, lots of politics Growth opportunities are available, but need to be sought out
