it takes a very long time to get ahead for the vast majority of the employees. they did not adapt well to the pandemic and remote working as the company culture was non existent. sitting through all hands meetings was very difficult as the higher management told blatant lies about how successful the company was doing yet employees were resigning at an alarming rate while others were being laid off or fired. many of the upper management in my experience were unprofessional and very cliquey.

They acquire companies they consider are struggling and competitors, strip them for parts and close them down. I was part of an acquisition merger where ZD made some key and really passionate people redundant without even considering them. After the merger completed there were 3 rounds of redundancies in 6 months. The majority of people who stayed ended up either being laid off or leaving. It’s not a comfortable place to work, you’re always on the cutting line. Managers never know what’s going on within the company “you never know what’s going to come from the top”. Digital media is dying. Pay is also bad. Avoid if you want to look after your mental health.
