      Zimmer needs new leadership

      Pros

      Zimmer has many talented, engaged people who are hard-working and friendly inside and outside the office. The salary and 401k package is very good.

      Cons

      The new leadership team has really dropped the ball and it is reflected in the company's financial results. Zimmer is no longer the leader in this industry and needs new leadership.

      Pros

      The departments that are rewarded are development, research and HR. These department leaders know they have the support of the higher ups and can command the raises and promotions. If you're able to answer questions by being evasive and by using double talk; they'll like you at Zimmer.

      Cons

      Latest buzz word is innovation. The word is an oxymoron at Zimmer. If you don't conform, you're not going anywhere. Delaying hiring decisions and passing on the extra work to whose left is what they practice because the leaders think there's an unlimited supply of dolts who are dying to work for Zimmer.

      Pros

      There are lots of good fellow employees. My peers are friendly and fun to work with. Middle level management is caring and supportive. The benefits are very good, especially health care. This is a stable prfitable company and the medical industry is relatively immune to economic downturns.

      Cons

      They try to get by without hiring enough people and pushing you to work lots of overtime. The company has spent millions literally on hordes of consultants and prefers to outsource much of their work. They have not been able to attract competitive talent. Upper managemnet can be somewhat rigid and inflexible, but at the very top level they are trying to encourage inovation.
