Stay for a year, then find someplace better!
Pros
Meet some great people Nice office You may get to work on some great accounts (even though it'll most likely be for a short time)
Cons
You'll get paid more working as a sales associate in retail. They make a lot of promises during the interview process about how much they're going to teach you and the growth that will take place, and it's all lies. As an assistant buyer you're just a glorified admin. There is no real work for you. You may get lucky and get a supervisor that cares and wants to train you (like I did half way though), but the department as a whole could care less. It's pathetic to see people who have been there for almost 2 years and don't know the basics because it was never taught to them. And don't even think about trying to learn something outside of your job description. They'll smile and say "sure thing!" But they will never allow it to happen. I tried several times, even spoke to the VP and nothing. It's like they don't understand what integrated means, even though it's plastered on every e-mail signature. Stay for a year so you can get the exposure and the name on your resume, then leave. And I hope you're a quick study because all the things that Zimmerman didn't teach you that they should have will be evident at any other self respecting agency. Oh and don't even get me started on valet....
