Pros

Working at Zimmerman as an Account Coordinator is a great crash course in advertising. Zimmerman is an account person's playground, because it has this amazing mix of new business and long-term client relationships. Beautiful building. Fun and smart people. Zimmerman values continued education; lectures are offered every week on a range of topics. If you ask for more work you can always get more involved. I'm in Account Services but have approached other departments about being looped in on projects, and everyone has been so enthusiastic about having me on board. Often times the title "Account Coordinator" can mean "glorified assistant." Plenty administrative tasks are routine and expected with this job, but I constantly ask to sit in on meetings, to be looped in on projects, and to have more responsibility. Do this (and do good work to back it up), and you can learn so much. You just have to prove that you want it. It's an exciting time to be at the agency: new accounts, new business, new talent, and positive vibes and energy all around. Upper management is almost weirdly accessible. Jordan Zimmerman conducts an on-boarding session for each round of new employee hires and is in the office all of the time. Michael Goldberg is everything you could want and more from a CEO. He has an extremely genuine open door policy. He will take his time to answer your emails, discuss your goals, or have a meeting with you regardless of your level in the company. I feel extremely lucky to work under him.

Cons

Sure, the pay isn't great. But if you adjust for cost of living, it's basically the same level as what you would make in New York City as an entry-level employee.

Pros

Zimmerman offers an innovative, high energy workplace to all of their associates.

Cons

Though parking is valet, I'm not too fond of allowing people access to my personal vehicle on a daily basis. Maybe it's just me, but it really feels like an invasion of my privacy.

Pros

I have found my first six months at Zimmerman to be one of the best work experiences I have EVER had. I am 46 and in an Account Director position. The support from my direct superior and the executive team has been exceptional. Zimmerman has an "open door policy" which includes that of the President and CEO. Not many other companies can offer that. I have been able to understand my career path and it has been communicated to me what I need to make it happen. I can't say enough except that I love my job at Zimmerman.

Cons

This is a terrible one. But, I must state it. In the Zimmerman Cafe, there is the kind of Coke machine that allows you to mix 60 different variations of Coke brands. Since coming to Zimmerman, my Diet Coke intake has tripled. Arrrrrgh. Seriously, this is an awesome place to work.
