Pros

As a person part of the solution delivery organization, I get to work with a lot of different customers and every challenge is always different. But you always have Vinyl as the main tool to solve complex business problems. The team I work with is unbelievable. The delivery leadership is second to none, smart, demanding and do everything to execute at the highest level. They've truly assembled a dream team of Solution Architects. We try not to be your normal consultants (many don't call themselves that but some of the management team does), they are a new wave of developers who have strong business process knowledge and are good with data and development. We have small teams (we call them pairs), I often have to demo to management then build with whoever I'm paired up with. But we can build things quite fast so I always have more to demo before the business is ready. Not really a great term to describe us but we are the combination of a Product Manager, Management Consultant, App Developer, Business Analyst with a little bit of UEX Designer.

Cons

Sometimes being on multiple accounts is hard when things ramp up. It's sort of a pro, because things are always fresh. But the your clients don't care if you have deadlines for apps that aren't theirs. Our internal processes need to be flushed out a bit more. Sometimes recruits attend the class and don't hear from the HR team for a while. The comp model doesn't really incentivize internal growth or knowledge and learning. While everyone does what they can to help grow the company, it would be nice to allocate some time for helping others, R&D, internal apps and other things. Sometimes it gets a bit siloed/isolated especially since most of our accounts are remote focused. Many of the seniors have multiple skills and it would be nice to see that leveraged. As we'll probably grow into that.

Pros

Zudy is maturing out of it's "Startup" phase, but that certainly doesn't mean it's missing any of the excitement and optimism often associated with promising new businesses. Zudy set some pretty lofty goals for itself and it is well on it's way to meeting them. The products and services that Zudy offer speak for themselves, but the high caliber of the individuals who are hired should not be overlooked. Many employees are extended the luxury (and immense responsibility) of working from home. A day in the life of a Zudy employee is never dull. The work is both challenging and rewarding. We enable our clients to make more informed decisions about their businesses, which has an immediate impact on their bottom line. The support structure for a company with relatively low overhead and employees that often work in different locations was one factor that had originally given me pause. However, the solution to this problem far exceeded my expectations. There's an ever-present internal communication amongst almost all of the employees, offering a wealth of knowledge and support on which to draw. It's one of the main factors that allows us as a company to implement changes quicker than ever before. For those wondering about pay- employees are compensated fairly for the work they have performed. This is a business where the work one puts in is highly correlated with the compensation, and it's a great motivator in my opinion. In addition, it's a good idea to request PTO at least two weeks in advance. There are not any other explicit restrictions for PTO. There is a lot of freedom at Zudy, and if you're up for a challenge, you can reap the rewards.

Cons

As an individual, if you are not disciplined in your abilities to maintain focus and dedication, working from home can cause productivity problems.
