- Both research based, and market oriented mindset - Ambitious objectives which encourages innovation - Access to experts in a variety of fields (biology, software, data science, chemistry, materials, chemical engineering, robotics, etc) - Young and talented people as coworkers - Free catering - Management cares a lot about health and well-being of employees

Cons

- Even though options and benefits are available, it is not as competitive as one may expect for a company in Bay Area. This could change as company grows. - Upward movement is sometimes challenging and not well-defined - Sometimes goals and timelines may seem too ambitious

The company is having a real impact on the building blocks of the economy. The mission of the company is extremely challenging, but there is clear line-of-site to how to get there. The team is composed of increadibly talented people who are very fun to work with. The programs we are working on have positive environmental impact - it is a great place to work if you are mission-driven

Given the challenging nature of what Zymergen is trying to accomplish, it can be frustrating to be in the forefront of some of the pitfalls and mistakes we will inevitably encounter
