Pros

Salary/Bonus structure is at the very high end for those willing to live out BP "values". If you are willing to just smile and nod through the endless ebbs and flows of management change, you will be rewarded with a six figure salary amid an archaic and unfulfilling work environment. Refining has made strides in safety culture over the past several years, emerging morale issues stand to threaten this trend.

Cons

You are only as good as your last line manager. If you have any amount of character or personal integrity, you will last only as long as you have a like minded line manager. All bets are off once the inexperienced ladder climbing short timers move through. Senior management frowns upon those with extensive site knowledge as most are highly degreed and their fragile egos will not allow them to take advice from somebody who is "below" them in the scholarly/managerial hierarchy.
