Pros

Excellent pay, decent benefits. Lots of overtime, but only on a voluntary basis. Lots of room for advancement, and excellent union protection.

Cons

Company does not care if they kill people. BP has killed before and will kill again. They stretch people and equipment to the limit to save money then act surprised when they blow things up.

Pros

Benefits and Compensation, but not enough to ever go back. In fact if I could trade the experience for time back I would.

Cons

BP does not have respect for outside hired experienced mid level professionals, and allows internal corruption and bullying to dictate how teams are formed and how people are promoted. On-boarding and support of bringing mid level employees into the company with intention to sustain employment does not exist. Corruptions starts from HR, as HR does not select employees fairly and its completely inconsistent. Positions are created to hire a specific individual, and then if they decide they do not like that person, the position become redundant. There is blatant elitist exclusion of any new hires that were "contractor to hire", and a hatred and resentment that will leave you drowning in the work no one wants to do or is already behind. Even if you do all that is asked of you or what is reasonably feasible to get done in a work week, you will still be slandered, humiliated and excluded by your team lead and/or line manager and eventually let go. All company resources for development go to the challengers or to the "graduated". Every else can eat DIRT and what is the most hypocritical is the Leaders of the Company turn a blind eye to the bad behavior and even go as far as to reward bullying, and humiliation at an employee's expense. HR will not back you either as their is continuous confidentiality breach between HR and Managers. There is no way up, even if you drown yourself with work like a slave. Hard work will not necessarily deliver anything but being manipulated, exploited and lets not forget sabotaged. You will hear one thing from your line manager all the while they are planning how to set you up for failure. The leaders have no real regard for general population of employees. Speaking your mind or thinking outside the box in this company will result in being ostracized. They prefer a room of identical robots to run their company into the ground!
