Pros

Fair and balanced company with reasonable work/liffe balance policies and fair compensation

Cons

BP tends to over-promote minorities and women without consideration of the negative business impacts from having managers in jobs that are bigger than their ability and real ambition

Pros

It's a salary. If you are motivated and say yes enough times, you'll get ahead. The old pre-merger BP would be "Ready, ..., Fire" "Ready, ..., Fire". The old pre-merger Amoco was "Ready, Aim, ..." "Ready, Aim, ...". Eventually, we will get to "Ready, Aim, Fire".

Cons

Too much process. Retirement plan was much better for heritage Arco, Amoco and Vastar staff.

Pros

Schedule flexibility, open envirnment, williness to share new ideas.

Cons

Bureaucratic methods to get those new ideas in place, too many discussions and not enough action. Mirred in 'old school' operations beliefs from those who have been with the company since the amoco/ Sohio days, and believe their way is still the best way. Multiple reorganizations, about every two years. Not enough consistency in leadership staying around for mopre than a couple years in role.
