Pros

The company is fast moving, not afraid of challenge or to redefine itself; the company culture is open, conscientious, friendly, meritocratic, with a clear internal promotion mechanism and a strong bias towards performance, safety, operational excellence, and strong technical/engineering skill set. The key to success is willingness to work hard, international mobility, and ability to get along with everyone from peers to senior management and the front line employees.

Cons

Often too dependent on individual executive agendas, overly ambitious, tolerating behaviours and practices inconsistent with company values, unable to retain top talent in times of crisis or transition.

Pros

As a long-term employee, I have tried to find positives in this company, but I am hard pressed to do so. The fellow co-workers on the front lines are fun to work with, but the daily walk into the office is an exercise in demoralization at its finest.

Cons

Career opportunities are few and far between, and when they do arise, the assessment center process is a joke. There is no way to be impartial when hiring from within when everyone knows who you are, who favors you, and who doesn't. The salary is fine here if and only if you are doing the task that is listed in your job description, but as a leader once said, "You don't get noticed by doing your job." The problem is that you will find yourself often taking on new projects in the name of professional development with no mention of compensating you for the extra work.
