Pros

BP is a good place to work with a strong commitment to fairness, diversity and ethical conduct. BP offers plenty of opportunity for professional development. Senior management are generally of a very high calibre.

Cons

BP is prone to constant reorganisation, management changes causing a loss of focus, continuity and delivery. This makes it an unstable work environment. There is little respect for work life balance and no consideration for the impact on individuals when determining new tasks or initiatives. The diversity agenda has a significant influence on HR-related decisions and will often have greater importance than merit.

Pros

*Great pay and benefits, really unrivaled for the amount of work. * A lot of focus on work/life balance * Ability to take on projects and learn easily * Huge opportunities if you are willing to take them

Cons

* Little internal communication that makes sense. Senior management seems lost * Poor management at the mid level. They have little training * Crazy structure. One manager managing two other managers who manage one person each * So much overlap in the organization that there is too much double work * Did I say too much overlap?

Pros

+ Flexible work options + work/life balance + Global scale and reach + Excellent benefits

Cons

- Ineffective management - take forever to make decisions only to reverse them the following year - lots of double-speak - promise younger employees the world, only to hold them back from reaching full potential. - always hanging on for the elusive bonus or salary growth
