Pros

Promotes continual learning. Many different parts of the company, something for everyone. There is always a drive to be on top of in regards to cutting edge technology. Diverse workforce. Great Benefits package.

Cons

Very bad at melding the business cultures of aquired businesses. Too many Chiefs, not enough Indians. For many of those Chiefs, this is just a brief stop on the way to somewhere else.

Pros

Large size and name recognition. Excellent benefits / perks. Decent salary - if you have leverage to negotiate. Nice severance package for long term employees.

Cons

Expect to work long and hard for those $$$. Work-family balance is more of a joke the higher you climb. Expect frequent re-orgs and downsizing. No loyalty to long-term employees.
