Pros

Great clients - you'll be working with majority of brands in Tesco, and they are keen to talk to you because of Tesco relationship - that is very positive, particularly in a sales role. Also means you have positive client relationships, ie. can learn a lot about clients and build decent personal/professional relationships - which is good for your network. Many examples of people working at dunnhumby and getting hired by their CPG clients. Tesco exposure is great - you can work directly with Tesco buyers/category teams, and go to welwyn to meet tesco/clients - that is fantastic exposure which no other agencies can offer, and also a great learning platform too. Nice people internally - everyone genuinely very approachable and friendly. Work/life balance is great - leads to a nice culture - never work late, office attendance is not really pushed (most people do 1 or 2 days in office), holidays encouraged. Stress levels across the business seem low which can only be positive. Feels like a good place to work earlier in your career to learn the industry, learn about business, & get paid comparatively well. Equally, a good place to work at any stage without major stress , nice people, decent pay. dunnhumby is an interesting business with different arms, so potentially good opps to move into other areas of the business - uk or foreign based. UK office is great - nice space, free coffee, beers in office every other thursday, tennis tournaments etc. Does this side of things very very well.

Cons

Pace of change in business feels a bit slow which is not criticism but worth noting. People who have worked there for 5+ years have shared that the business has not changed a lot, probably because it doesn't need to as it performs well! In the world of ai, tech etc, will be interesting to see how it can develop to keep up with pace of change, changing client requirements. From a sales perspective, not a place you'll make huge commission checks - business ticks over and you'll probably hits annual targets (the sales engine works very well) & get rewarded with a 30% bonus. No one taking home huge pay checks, or none at all - it is all quite fair. If you're looking for tech sales pay checks, this is not the place to be - not criticism just heads up. You'll need to own career development - examples of people who have been at the same level for many years waiting for promotion, this is not rewarded. You need to work with managers, mentors (which you can personally find or sign up for) to plot out a route - business encourages lateral moves before progression. If you want to work somewhere with clear linear progression based on performance eg. after 1, 2 years you go up - then not necessarily the best place to be, but this will vary by team/business unit. Not unusual for a corporate company.
