Pros

Most of the people on the team are lovely — everyone helps each other out, and there’s a good sense of teamwork on the floor. The job itself isn’t bad, and the training covers what you need to know to get started.

Cons

The big issue lately has been the lack of transparency around bonuses. For two quarters in a row, the information we’ve been given about payout dates and targets has changed after the fact. This quarter, our Christmas bonus was pushed from November to December, and now it’s being paid only 20 days before Christmas, which makes it really hard to plan financially for an already expensive time of year There was no communication around this before we got out bonus letters, and the explanation was dismissive, rather than acknowledging the frustration and panic it’s caused. It’s hard to stay motivated when updates keep changing and there’s little accountability for how it’s communicated.

Pros

eBay has strong brand recognition. The company offers flexible working in terms of remote vs hybrid, decent benefits, and opportunities to learn from a large scale global organization. The healthcare options are okay.

Cons

My experience as a Black employee in the Product Marketing organization was deeply disappointing. There are significant disparities in how Black employees are treated and valued compared to others, particularly in titles, compensation, and opportunities for advancement. Many Black employees are in contractor or lower level titles, and there’s a noticeable lack of representation in leadership. While the company as a whole isn’t terrible, the culture within the Product Marketing org does not reflect true inclusion or equity. If you’re a person of color, I would advise being cautious and asking direct questions about diversity, advancement, and support during the interview process.
