Pros

If you're focused on the surface aspects of the company.. we're doing fairly well. Decent pay and good benefits. However, if you're dev minded, see below..

Cons

Some people over-worked and others under utilized. The state of the code base makes everyday a constant battle to get the job done with not enough emphasis on quality engineering. Both dev and product management are fairly short sighted and don't understand our system does not perform to the level they think it does. Their answer: hire as many engineers as quickly as possible.

Pros

I'm a member of the Data Services team. I started here pretty fresh out of college with an interest in web technologies but no real context to go off of. My degree in CS focused a lot more on straight code and theory as opposed to exposure to different technologies. It made this job a perfect fit since the focus is on building sound object oriented code that interfaces directly with a multitude of different websites. Due to how quality focused this team is, its been a good growth experience for me. I've been able to really fill in the gaps from my degree and learn about what makes code more maintainable and extendable vs simply being efficient and correct. Anyone looking to start their career should give this job a hard look. Even if its not a path you want to pursue long term, this job is good for refining your skills and building confidence in your abilities.

Cons

We had a rocky transition from our startup phase to being more corporate. Its been a compromise all around.
