Pros

The work here is interesting and I'm given the freedom to ask questions and develop techniques for lasting change. Extremely collaborative environment. Flexible work options including work from home. Can see myself being here for a very long time.

Cons

The only con I can think of is that eMoney many times is dependent on other institutions for the data our application provides. If there are problems on the institution's side, it is reflected poorly on eMoney, through no fault of our own. Obviously completely out of our control, but we do everything in our power to mitigate the situation and provide our end users with the best experience possible.

Pros

There is so much focus on growth and process improvement in the Development organization. If you don't like the way your team does things, teams are constantly iterating and adopting ideas from each other, and it isn't top-down, but comes from the team members. The work environment is exceptional, with option to define your own work from home schedule, and really to define your own work-life balance.

Cons

From a technology standpoint, the company has room to grow, and you will find some tech debt to deal with, but there is almost unlimited resource and will power to evolve into a tech leader in fintech industry.

Pros

There are a lot of things to like about eMoney. The company has a mature Agile mindset and is dedicated to it far beyond the typical "we have daily standups". There is a willingness to embrace new methods and ideas, to some degree. They try to stay up to date with tech and see the importance of a modern system. I would also say the benefits are quite good, even beyond the typical ones. There are frequent company meetings where they will provide free food, even beer, to all employees. Work-life balance is very good, with the ability to even work fully remote if approved. Even more, I never ran into any issue with PTO or when family/personal things required coming in late or leaving early. WFH is generally at will. Overall, on the pro side, I would say eMoney is a good place to work for. Provided, of course, you don't find the below Cons applicable to you...

Cons

...and there lies the rub. You see, you'll be fine at eMoney if you generally fit in and get along with your manager. The problem starts when you start to realize your manager does not like you, or you don't "fit the mold" in some way. This is particularly true if you have things like mental illness that make you an easy target. So I would warn anyone at eMoney or thinking of working there - watch your back. Cover your butt and document every interaction with your manager. Don't do what I did and assume that HR will bother to verify lies told about you. eMoney is a brutal place if you don't fit in, so take care of yourself.

Thank you for taking the time to give us both your negative and positive feedback. We are committed to creating an inclusive, collaborative, and fun environment for all our employees, including those with disabilities. We’re disappointed to hear about your negative experiences and are committed to ensuring they do not happen in the future. We have taken your feedback directly to our human resources department and they are addressing the places we’ve missed in providing a supportive work environment. We have policies strictly prohibiting this type of behavior, as well as reporting hotlines and multiple other ways that our employees may report any incidences should they ever occur. Reports may be made anonymously and without fear of retaliation. We understand that you no longer work for eMoney, but If you would like to share more about your experiences, please contact us by emailing feedback@emoneyadvisor.com so that we can set up a time to talk.
