Pros

Most of my coworkers were great people. I created some great friendships but unfortunately most were formed over a mutual hatred of our working environment.

Cons

Where do I start. The iCIMS’ management system is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. I’ve never been treated so poorly by my higher ups. Everything I was promised during my interview process was a lie. They don’t want to advance your career, they don’t value work life balance, they lie about diversity and use it as a “marketing tool”, management treats you as a number, and they play favorites so obviously it hurts. The amount of people that have left since I started there amazed me … at first, but now I fully understand. I would highly advise anyone who’s looking to work here to go look else where.

Pros

Great benefits and office in Bell Works. Great place to learn the SAAS industry if you don't mind being overloaded with work.

Cons

With company for 4+ years and was planning on staying for 10+ years before Vista came into the picture. Very overworked for low pay (Left the company for the same position elsewhere for a 25% bump in pay with same (if not better) benefits and much less of a workload). So much politics it becomes very frustrating to make real change. Pride themselves on internal opportunities yet resort to outside hires over internal consistently causing good talent to leave. Once Vista took majority control over the company in 2018/2019 the company started to deteriorate. New board seems like corporate robots who care more about the bottom line then their employees. What was once a great unique (privately owned and ran) place to work has become a cut throat corporate tornado of disorganization with an uncertain future. Former CEO/founder used to pride himself on never having layoffs even during tough times then there were multiple rounds of layoffs in 2020 under Vista's appointed board. Company claims it was due to covid-19 but the timing of it seemed very convenient to let go of a large percentage of the company. Many employees laid off were with the company for years.

Pros

iCIMS gears towards their young employees (22-26 age range), they throw socials with alcohol, try to have contests for sales, etc but a lot of what they do is for show. They don't stand behind what they say - I was sold on the CEO's vision/mission but unfortunately his staff doesn't enforce it. They are too busy worrying about what food they're having at the next social or what is the next award they can get PR for to actually deal with any of the issues at hand.

Cons

iCIMS is a company that is very concerned about their brand appearance, which is a great thing for a company, however the perception they want the world to see is not who they truly are. It is a company who hires and puts very young, inexperienced people into roles they don't have any experience in. They are putting people who have 2-3 years experience in a supervisory role and making it horrible for those who now report to this inexperienced kid. People are not treated fairly and equally and promotions are very much, 'who is part of the popular crowd'. It's been a long time since I was in high school; and to see this type of behavior in a company disgusted me. I had a manager report to me who used to make fun of the employees who reported to her and gossiped to others behind their back - this is NOT appropriate behavior for a manager. Other managers and other complained abut her, but again, she was part of the 'in crowd' so it was over looked. I can't be surprised at this persons behavior because this person had 2 years experience out of college before being promoted to a manager to supervise staff - a good individual contributor doesn't make a good manager. The new hires that iCIMS brings in with experience do not stay - they have on-boarding every 2 weeks with a full class of new comers because they can't keep the people who have worked in the real world before. Marketing is one of the biggest offenders, they hire the cheap, young labor and try to hire senior managers with experience to corral the kids but they run amuck and when a manager tries to discipline for poor behavior the manager is the one who is told to back off because it might upset them. I understand we now live in a world of millennia's, but that doesn't mean we can't still have integrity and ethics in business.
