Pros

Loyal and hard working coworkers and local management, nice office/studio space, free tickets and other perks from working in a radio station, iheartradio app.

Cons

Crippling debt from private equity sale has caused everything to go down hill in the last few years. No pay increases since 2008. Half baked ideas are crammed down from above without proper vetting, testing or market input. Severe pressure on employees without giving much in return. Constantly shifting focus and priorities. Many jobs eliminated and consolidated. Control has shifted from the local markets to corporate. Company only cares about the bottom line due to their $20 billion dollar debt.

Pros

You get to work with some great people.

Cons

Pay structure is terrible. In the interview you are told you will be given the opportunity to manage and grow some accounts already billing- but it's just not true. You will hunt for everything you bring in, Initially you are provided a decent salary up front but it's temporary while you earn commissions(this was not explained well in the interview). Early on after selling a substantially large 6 figure deal, they did not honor or pay out the commission because I was informed I was not yet exceeding my temporary salary, and until that happens, they would be keeping commissions. Talk about ruining any incentive or motivation to keep selling- this was by far and ultimately the most disappointing aspect of the role.

Pros

Working from home. Great brand name with a lot of recognition. Leads are in bound and consistent

Cons

Culture. Lack of professionalism. Cliquey environment. Very cut throat. Very high turnover. Most people do not make it past 3 years of employment. Saw hundreds of people hired and fired in a 4 year period. They do not invest in their people. They grind them down and wear them out and just let them go when they’re not useful anymore. Borderline abusive/harassment from leadership when you’re not falling in line or even if you just make a mistake that ends up making them look bad. No coaching through those mistakes nor are you even consulted when you do. Directors and VPs talk about people behind their backs on a regular basis. You can have an outstanding year and have two slows months and they will still let you go. They do not care about anyone at all. The inner circle are very territorial and do not welcome new people to the team unless you have similar lifestyle/party/gambling habits. My advice if you want to be good at this job. Learn how to golf and how to be very political. Don’t expect to grow a career here though
