Pros

My direct supervisor was amazing. Loved her. She created an autonomous but supportive and realistic environment. The perks of the job include executing special events, going to shows, and networking with industry leaders. It was the most fun job I've ever had, and I learned a lot about marketing in the music industry. It was cool being able to shape the culture of music in a local scope.

Cons

The pay was atrocious. The company as a whole knows their business and work is glamorous and will attract a lot of candidates, so they purposely pay less than what you're worth because they think you're lucky to be there. Unfortunately, you can't pay your bills with fun memories. They will spend thousands of dollars on new, shiny things that won't really push the needle, but it becomes a hard ask when an employee wants to be paid a competitive wage for their hard work. The turnover is high and people are seen as disposable. Someone who dedicated decades of his life and shaped each radio station in the cluster gets laid off and left to fend for himself. They don't see you as a person - they see you as a number. They are the type of corporation that funny work memes make fun of.

Pros

- mostly a great team of smart, great to work with software engineers/product managers/ux designers in the digital org - good opportunity to learn the ins and outs of working on a large, complex application - mostly good WLB

Cons

- leadership still genuinely believes that terrestrial radio will stay relevant long term - lack of investment in scaling the digital organization to support the company's goals of keeping up with competitors - instead, platitudes such as "operate like a startup" are thrown around - getting a raise is basically impossible - 401k match paused for years post-pandemic - product decisions made on the whims of upper management, WLB thrown to the wind when CEO has app ideas
