You are told you are helping people out by saving them money on their car payment and interest rate (true), but you are also supposed to sell them GAP insurance and an extended warranty (even if they already have one).
GAP insurance is something everyone with a car loan should have unless you are ballin rich and it doens't transfer loan to loan, easy sell.
Selling someone a warranty during a refinance is not easy. Most salesmen just hope the customer is so excited by skipping a payment and the monthly savings that they will just sign away and not even notice what is going on. They would often say "Click click click" meaning when signing a digital contract that is how easy it was. Just "click click click"
You really have to drink the kool-aid and believe their whole "we are doing this for the people" type of holier than now attitude. It is a business. They are doing it for money. Sure they help people out here and there, but at the end of the day it is about dollars and cents and as a loan consultant you are just a number.
