-Competitive compensation for goal-driven individuals -Simplified work: Just execute, no excessive thinking required -Remote flexibility for those living far from office locations -Outstanding colleagues: Gems among the non-leadership team

Cons

-Exclusive C-suite culture: Good old boys club prevails -Frugal mindset limitations: Resources may be restricted -Lack of diverse audience: Decision-making centered around CEO's preferences -Outdated mentality and methods: Emphasis on old-school practices -Distracted environment: Numerous priorities competing for attention

Pros

They hired well with a lot of talent around the company

Cons

iSpot suffers from the classic founder CEO problem. The company tried to scale but the CEO held it back. iSpot should be building software as defined by its customers but too often the CEO came in and just told everyone what to do and by when (it was never anywhere near enough time to build something good and scales). CEO is a micromanager who sat with engineers and told them what to code. Its demoralizing since his ideas were thin for this stage of the company, where the stakes and expectations were higher. To make it worse he was condescending a lot of the time so people generally avoided him. He truly thought he was the smartest person in every room.

Pros

The people -- most make you feel incredibly lucky to work here Each day is different, never monotonous Most people kept their jobs through the pandemic They offer training courses (if you have time to take them) Decent healthcare, dental and vision benefits

Cons

They don't really listen to their lower level employees and are somehow baffled when their engagement scores are so low. No more attempts are being made to find ways to incentivize talent to remain on their current teams Dishonesty Unfair treatment Your boss might tell you that something you worked on for years "doesn't matter" "Lead by example" for managers doesn't apply to upper management. The "Unlimited PTO" policy is misleading and confusing to navigate
