You get a lot of experience in a short amount of time. Come prepared to hit the ground running and dive in head first.
Cons
If you dive in head first, don't expect management to forgive mistakes or save you. People are expected to know how to do everything, but without formal training or previous experience. And don't anticipate actually receiving any of the information you need ahead of time (lots of unsaid expectations and lack of communication across groups on status or deliverables). Raises are generally around 1-2% (if that).
