Pros

Dental... and that is it.

Cons

Top administration level: divided, paranoia, lack of communication, do not follow the initial agreement with their employees. Middle management level: paranoia, lack of communication, lack of technical knowledge and/or expertise, do not follow the initial agreement with their employees. Colleagues (US): trying to survive and make ends meet. ok, lacking technical knowledge. Room for improvement. Colleagues (RO): trying to survive and make ends meet. ok, with some technical knowledge. Room for improvement. Career opportunities: same as those of a golden retriever hired to guard a flock of sheep. Work/Life Balance: this job should have been 24/7... Senior Management: minus, minus, minus Culture/Values: minus, minus, minus My psychotherapist in charge: change your job!

Pros

Nothing to say here. That's why I left.

Cons

The company hierarchy has no organization structure at its core. The projects are handled without any common sense. Responsibility is used as a vehicle for pointing fingers. This leaves some important aspects of the business, like the need for training, which applies to all employees (management included), unaddressed. The management staff are arguing all the time. The organisation of this small, family business as they like to call it, is weak. The most important part of the business is outsourced. Jobs are not clearly defined, which leads to conflicts over who will perform the task and when it will get done. On the other hand, conflicts arise when some of the employees seek to exert control within the organization when they may not have the authority. Because the company lacks the strength of a well-defined hierarchy, you need to have the most sane mind to keep it cool and do your job. The lack of structure and organization weakens the collaborative effort needed to have an essential employee development plan. You are not allowed to evolve, neither at medQ, nor at their overseas office, as the label of the position for which you were hired is glued to your forehead forever (true for 99% of the cases). There is also an inability to upgrade the staff's skill set, which degrades the ability of the company to stay competitive in the market place as satisfied medQ customers are on the verge of extinction.

Growing and expanding company and great place to work

Pros

medQ is a growing and expanding company and has been around for about 20 years. A great place to work for job security, friendly workplace, career advancement and great office building in an execellent location in Plano, plenty of parking spaces and very safe area. Raises and bonuses are very good. CEO is very approachable, accessible and willing to listen to recommendations, and shows empathy when family issues happen. I like that it is a hands on, an ability to work independently, show initiative and learn about all products than in larger companies.

Cons

It is a small business and those coming from large companies may not be used to the hands on concept where employees will learn most aspects of the company and have more responsibility and independence.
