Pros

Outstanding company. nCino hires on attitude and aptitude, and it shows. You can teach a smart person to do most anything, but you need a positive attitude and team focused work ethic to maintain a great culture and nCino ensures this is the standard. Talking to other employees and customers, a common refrain is how nice and energetic people are at the company. How happy we are to work there and how friendly we are. It could be the proximity to the beach, but I suspect it has to do with our leadership and how we hire and manage our workforce. As a fast growing company, there is a lot of room for promotion and hard work is rewarded. Likewise, management takes the time and puts in the effort to help struggling individuals. It is quite the opposite from a cutthroat company, but competitive in a way that ensures those who want to succeed can.

Cons

We are growing fast, which is great, but it can be hard to know everyone as we hire so many talented people.

Pros

First off, everyone is respected, regardless of title or tenure, and people are encouraged to shoot for the stars without fear of missing. The software developers are in charge of their workload and how much to commit to (and not a scheduler). We hustle in comfort, bust our butts to make sure we all succeed, yet gather in the breakroom for a beer and good conversation. We celebrate our victories publicly and learn from shortcomings one-on-one (more respectful ). There are also endless opportunities to advance and we truly have a CEO that has our backs and will stand up for us! Today we are having a beer-bag (like a brown bag lunch - just with beer) on how to manager your boss! The benefits are amazing and the work/life integration is fantastic, which allows me the opportunity to work from home if I need to, take off a little early to go to a school function and pick back up later, and my boss trusts me to do my job without micromanaging!

Cons

1. Not always my favorite beer on taps 2. Only a mile from the beach and it constantly calls to me (Moana reference) 3. I wish we had on-site fitness and childcare

Pros

-Incredible work/life balance. -You are treated like an adult. You are trusted. So there's no clocking in and out, or hour tracking (at least, in PD&E). As long as you get your work done, you can come and go as you please. However, because you work hard, you don't take advantage of it. It's genius. -Supportive, friendly, fun co-workers who work hard and play hard. -Incredible benefits (HSA account with money in it from company, incredible insurance coverage for you and your spouse). -If you show you are willing to learn something new, it goes a long, long way. -If you want something to happen, you make it happen. And you are supported in doing so. -Amazing social activities (great annual holiday party, excellent company events that build morale and inclusion. You feel like you are truly part of something great).

Cons

-Because it's a start-up, there are growing pains here that you won't feel elsewhere (for example, process mishaps-- or lack thereof--but that's also part of why it's very liberating to work here). Sometimes you feel like you are riding a rollercoaster. But you're in good hands. -Sometimes, there are too many cooks in the kitchen here, which can get annoying. -We are paid incredibly well for this region, and this city (this is one of the most coveted companies to work for not only in Wilmington, but in North Carolina), but relative to similar positions at Silicon Valley software companies, we are paid less than industry standard.
