Pros

You get to eat the salads on your break.

Cons

Did not get any training. I was thrown into the line and forced to keep up the pace of those who have been working there for months. Was not treated right. Racism was prevalent and nothing was done about it. Poor management, unfriendly co-workers, team leaders having attitude. Customer service is also awful. Many team members being rude to customers..

Pros

Salad credits for employees weekly

Cons

There is 0 job security. Many people in my time were laid off or fired not for performance related reasons. They decided before I hit a year that my role was no longer needed after begging me to join (I had multiple offers from great companies)

Pros

Free salads and decent bonus size (though not fully transparent). The "corporate" side of things does great things for the community with farmers, etc.

Cons

Somehow you get zero autonomy and zero support simultaneously. You'll be told to "act like an owner," which is really just gaslighting you into having zero work-life balance. Management is expected to bridge the very wide gap between the amount hourly staff they want you to have and what you actually need. No opportunity for development once you're in the general manager level, and they don't put much value in "non-sweetgreen" experience. They pay near minimum wage for hourly employees and wonder why retention is down. Below average benefits for in-unit personnel. Everything that's wrong with the service industry for operations professionals in a neat green bow.
