Pros
- Getting to come up with material/curriculum for kids to learn - Lets you see how well you know a certain language, which allows you to get better yourself
Cons
The manager. He has little to no communication with the coaches. He'll remove coaches from sessions without letting them know and won't say anything unless you ask him yourself. He does not do well with face-to-face communication. When trying to provide constructive feedback to him, he gets defensive and will argue until he is in the right, and will even give negative feedback as a defense. He basically takes feedback as criticism. I once emailed him expressing my thoughts on certain situations, how I felt, and how I wanted to help improve; and he ignored it, never mentioned or regarded it and acted as if nothing had happened. He does not see his coaches as people. He lacks both sympathy and empathy, and basically does not care about what happens to others, he only cares about himself being good. He tries to force others to do tasks that he can do but does not want to do. He is very unprofessional, and has even talked back to parents. I would recommend working here if you're a student looking to put your CS knowledge in use, just make sure to watch out for the manager.
