Today, we celebrate the 18th anniversary of the Global Medical Response (GMR) Employee Foundation. In 2022, the Foundation provided more than $650,000 to more than 200 GMR family members who faced catastrophic events, such as property loss, the death of an employee or family member, or debilitating illness. Our primary goal is to provide financial assistance to our employees during times of need. We are proud of the work the GMR Employee Foundation has done over the years, and we remain committed to supporting our employees in any way we can. Meet Martine Bustamante, a dedicated community outreach coordinator for AMR San Mateo County, California. Growing up in a Latino household, Martine experienced the importance of community in every aspect of life. This strong sense of unity has been a driving force throughout her 13-year journey as an EMT and continues to inspire her in her current role. Martine sees the embodiment of this year's Hispanic Heritage Month theme, "Todos somos, somos uno: We are all, we are one," in the efficiency, respect and dedication of everyone at AMR San Mateo. She firmly believes that taking care of the community leads to growth and excellence, not only for the team but for the entire community, ensuring the highest level of clinical and personal care. For those seeking to expand their EMS careers, Martine emphasizes the strong bonds and friendships that form within the EMS community, providing support and camaraderie through challenging moments. Martine’s commitment to her community and passion for EMS serve as an inspiration to us all. Thank you, Martine, for your hard work and dedication to the communities we serve. #HispanicHeritageMonth
