Newly added Benefits! AMS is adding to it’s already extensive employee health benefits with orthodontal coverage at no cost to the employee. Additionally, employees can now have sessions with a therapist free of charge (3 per life event). Also, AMS employees have access to a Health Care Advocate to help with anything and everything they may need related to healthcare benefits. The health and wellbeing of our employees continues to be a top priority as our network keeps growing.
Research has shown that technology in the classroom is not only a powerful tool for accessing new information and learning but also boosts self-esteem. AMS was able to provide Chromebooks to our scholars on a 1:1 ratio. This year we are furthering the reach of our technology tools for teachers too by adding iReady in addition to Study Island. We are also excited to begin hiring School Counselors at our campuses to better serve the social emotional needs of our students.

As we come to the end of the school year, our Executive team has created key goals for what Academies of Math and Science will be focusing on next year. AMS is expanding department programs and teacher training through offering more hands-on and in-the-classroom training for our new teachers who join the AMS family! With the help of our new Director of Professional Development, we are creating a new "Teacher Academy", where training will include a focus on SEL (Social Emotional Learning) and trauma training. AMS is proud to expand on our gains from past years with an increased focus on cross-curricular integration.
