Colleagues who relay together, stay together! Twelve Aledaders recently completed the SoCal Ragnar Relay, a 12-person race where a slap bracelet is passed from runner to runner, moving constantly day and night. The course stretched more than 200 miles from San Diego to Huntington Beach, spanning ocean views, winding trails and steep neighborhood streets. This wasn’t just any race - it was a test of endurance, trust, community and a true expression of our Aledade values. Senior Product Analyst Guinevere Oliver said, “It was really impressive and heartwarming to see how everyone brought the spirit of service to the race.” Congrats to the team!

On April 9, Arkansas made a historic move to strengthen primary care by passing Senate Bill 264 — establishing a working group to define, measure and report primary care spending to set future investment targets. This will pave the way for primary care clinicians to provide more comprehensive, high-quality care to Arkansans. The Aledade Policy Institute worked alongside the Arkansas Academy of Family Physicians, independent primary care practices and many other stakeholders to take this crucial step toward sustainable primary care.

This week, NEJM Catalyst published an article co-written by Aledade CEO Farzad Mostashari and esteemed business author Geoffrey Moore, which argues that to significantly expand value-based care within Medicare, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services should apply lessons from Mr. Moore's book "Crossing the Chasm." This could mean taking a strategic approach similar to the one that successfully transitioned hospitals from paper to electronic health records more than a decade ago.

Aledade’s FIRST Program enhances formal primary care residency training by providing in-depth, value-based care curriculum and highlighting career opportunities among our partner practices. Through this program, Dr. William Glover is completing training at an Aledade partner residency program, Mountain Area Health Education Center - MAHEC, and will soon be joining North Buncombe Family Medicine, an Aledade partner practice. “The FIRST Program has been a pivotal supplement to my growth as a physician with the goal of providing value-based care (VBC) to the individuals within my community,” shared Dr. Glover. “The thoughtful monthly discussions are exceptional in gaining understanding of VBC, filling the gaps in knowledge that are not frequently taught in medical school and graduate medical education programs.” Learn more about the FIRST Program at aledade.com/residents.
