Archbold has announced its class inaugural class of internal medicine residents. These five physicians will spend the next three years at Archbold, rotating between specialties with an emphasis on internal medicine. The residents will begin their program at Archbold Medical Center, in July 2022.
In Archbold's fiscal year 2020, $60.6 million in community benefit was provided to the region. Using a methodology defined by the IRS for documenting and reporting this benefit, this number includes care for uninsured and underinsured patients; unreimbursed costs for patients in programs like Medicaid; outreach to underserved communities; general health improvement initiatives; support of health professions education; and support for community-building activities in the region.

Archbold Memorial Hospital performed its first Cardiac MRIs on Monday, February 14. Cardiac MRI, or cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, can produce detailed pictures of the structures within and around the heart. The test can help physicians study a heart muscle's structure and function while also finding the cause of a patient's heart failure. The test can also identify tissue damage due to a heart attack.
Archbold Medical Center’s new Internal Medicine Residency Program has received initial accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The program, which will participate in the 2021-2022 National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), is recruiting for its first class of five residents that will start July 1, 2022.

Gibbs joined Archbold in 1995 and has worked in medical/surgical departments, as well as serving as IMCU Nurse Manager and Critical Care Director of Nursing at Archbold Memorial Hospital.
