Archbold recently named Julie Dumas, BSN, RN, as Vice President of Quality and Patient Safety for the health system. Dumas has been with Archbold since 2005 and has over 15 years of healthcare experience, including direct patient care as a critical care nurse and nearly 11 years in hospital leadership roles. Most recently, she served as the Director of Hospital Accreditation for the healthy system.

Archbold's Hospice of Southwest Georgia has been awarded "Premier Performer" status by the Strategic Healthcare Programs (SHP) for achieving an overall caregiver and family satisfaction score that ranked in the top 5% for the 2021 calendar year.

Last month, family and friends of the Vann family gathered at Archbold’s Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center to celebrate the unveiling of a painting celebrating the life of Ann Vann. The painting, commissioned by the Vann family, is located in the infusion center waiting area and was painted by local artist Suzanna Winton. Titled Never Give Up, the painting is a reminder to all patients and their families to always remain positive and determined during their cancer treatment plan.

Archbold is proud to welcome Emergency Management Coordinator Seth Maxwell to their staff. Maxwell comes to Archbold from the Georgia Department of Health. He previously was the Director of Facilities Management at Clinch Memorial Hospital in Homerville, Georgia, where he oversaw emergency management, security and safety. He has been a veteran firefighter for 20 years and a sworn police officer for 14 years. Emergency Management Coordinators are tasked with helping communities and organizations anticipate hazards and vulnerability and create measures to mitigate, prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters.

Archbold Welcomes New Emergency Management Coordinator
Archbold Memorial Hospital's five internal medicine residents began their rotations this week. The residents were officially welcomed to Archbold and Thomasville by members of the Archbold staff and community during a long white-coat ceremony last week. Long white coats represent the physicians' transition from medical school to residency. These five physicians will spend the next three years at Archbold, rotating between specialties with an emphasis on internal medicine. They will also support the outpatient Internal Medicine Residency Clinic at 100 Mimosa Drive in Thomasville. The clinic will allow the residents to get hands-on experience in an outpatient clinical setting.

Ernessa Cook was named Archbold Medical Group’s 2021 Employee of the Year. Gary Federick was named Archbold Health Services’ 2021 Employee of the Year.
