What a fun Employee Appreciation Week we had! We celebrated the hard work and dedication of our talented saving sight team everyday for a whole week, ending with a fiesta finale on Friday, gifting staff with new Austin Retina Shirts! Thank you to each of our team members ofr your commitment to delivering excellence in retina care.
Throwback to our last Leadership Development Program (LDP) meeting where our employees participated in exercises to learn how to build trust in the workplace. Austin Retina's LDP strives to educate, empower, and inspire our staff to be better leaders and coworkers - and therefore better caretakers to our patients.
Happy National Coffee Day from Dr. Wong's team!
Thanks to local muralist Summer Lewis for painting a beautiful custom mural for our main clinic on 38th Street Memorial Day weekend! This painting totally beautifies our space and helps remind all of us why we #SaveSight every day -- so that we can enjoy the activities together that make our lives, families, and community special!
One of our very own, Laurinda Perez, recently graduated from Texas State University with a bachelor's degree after years of hard work. We are so proud to have her on the HR team here at Austin Retina!
Congrats to our Employee of the Year for 2021, Jennifer Gallardo-Aguirre! Jennifer was announced as the winner of the EOY award at the holiday party on 12/4. She was selected for this honor after a rigorous discussion among the management team, who considered all of the 12 Employees of the Month from 2021. Jennifer is a wonderful example of our core values and we are so grateful for her, all of our 2021 EOM winners, and each person who lives our core values each day.
Today and every day, we recognize the sacrifice and dedication of the many veterans who have served our great nation. To our Austin Retina employees who have served and for all our of veteran patients, we thank you. In honor of your sacrifice and commitment, Austin Retina will be making a donation to a wonderful non-profit Paws of War. This incredible organization trains and places shelter and support dogs to serve and provide independence to our US Military Veterans that suffer from the emotional and physical effects of war, all free of charge.
