Avalara employees showcased this year’s Pride theme of being true to ourselves and showing up authentically with events all month long. PRISM, LGBTQ+ of Avalara, welcomed Aleksa Manila for Drag Storytime, partnered with the Ujima ERG to discuss Imposter Syndrome, and hosted sessions to teach about queer representation, coming out at work, intersectionality, and more. #AvaCulture

Our team hosts an internal company-wide talk show each month called AvaChat. This month's AvaChat was hosted by Kaitlin Hung live from our Seattle office. Kaitlin and CEO Scott McFarlane heard from Chief Product Officer Sanjay Parthasarathy and members of the product team as they demoed upcoming products.

This week, Ujima, our Black Employee Resource Group, organized conversations about Dr. King's vision with an event titled "Beyond 'I Have a Dream:' Moving Forward Collectively in 2022". The open discussions focused on how to carry out the vision within "I Have a Dream" in the workplace and our lives. Thank you to Ujima for facilitating these conversations and to those who participated.
In honor of Veterans Day, our Veterans of Avalara Employee Resource Group (ERG) has partnered with other ERGs to raise funds to support the food banks of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) in Seattle, WA and Durham, NC.
