Our team at Highland Glen Apartments in Westwood, MA, hosted a senior prom this summer. The evening was filled with music, food, dancing, joy, and laughter. It culminated in the crowning of a prom king and queen chosen by the residents. These events are an incredible way to combat social isolation and bring communities together.
We broke ground on The Standard on Fifth in Pittsburgh's Uptown neighborhood. This development will offer 51 mixed-income rental apartments, with 78% being affordable. Featuring amenities like a fitness center, pet wash, and community room, The Standard on Fifth aims to provide quality, affordable homes for all. We're proud to collaborate with the City of Pittsburgh, the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA), and Uptown Partners of Pittsburgh to address the pressing need for affordable housing and contribute to the growth and vitality of the Hill District.
We were thrilled to celebrate the revitalization of Lenox Apartments with a ribbon-cutting event! This community has undergone major upgrades to its 285 affordable apartments. Originally built in 1939 as the first public housing dedicated to serving African Americans in Boston, Lenox Apartments now boasts brand-new kitchens, bathrooms, and in-home washers and dryers. The community building has been transformed to include a computer learning center, music room, fitness center, and more. We were joined by our public and private partners, including Boston Mayor Michele Wu, Secretary of Housing Edward Augustus, Jr., the Boston Housing Authority, former Massachusetts State Representative Byron Rushing, MassHousing, Bank of America, and former resident and muralist Rob “Problak” Gibbs.

Last month's groundbreaking event marked a new chapter for 140 Clarendon in downtown Boston. The work, made possible by our incredible public and private partners, will transform the community into 210 affordable apartments and set aside more than half of these apartments for people experiencing homelessness. Pine Street Inn will provide counseling and supportive services for these individuals. We will also preserve the historical elements of the building and retain many of the well-loved cultural and educational tenants, including YW Boston’s offices, The Lyric Stage Company, and The Snowden International School. Thank you to the many partners who have made this development possible, including The Mount Vernon Company, YW Boston, Pine Street Inn, City of Boston, Department of Housing and Community Development, MassHousing, Boston Housing Authority, Metro Housing Boston, BlueHub Capital, Bank of America, and our design and construction team - PCA Design and NEI General Contracting. We are excited to create and preserve affordable housing for those who are most vulnerable.
